Can I use an iron instead of a heat press?

Better not. In some cases you might be able to transfer onto a garment, but there is no guarantee for washability whatsoever. So we really don’t recommend it for these reasons:

Pressure – With an iron you can never achieve the same pressure over the entire surface.

Temperature – With an iron it is difficult to apply the same temperature over the entire surface.

Time – You will have to keep an eye on this yourself and that is tougher than you think if the transfer is bigger than the surface of the iron.

So to summarize: Due to more technical reasons we do not recommend using an iron if you want anything close to washability let alone general quality.

The use of an iron is difficult to control, especially with multiple jobs. To ensure that you achieve a consistent result and guarantee quality, we recommend always printing textiles with a transfer press.
